February 14, 2023, was the one-hundredth day of school for Alba Public School during the 22-23 school year. In celebration of this, all of the building students gathered in the gym for a picture.

On Friday, February 17, 2023, Alba Public School is planning on holding a sledding day for our students. This of course is dependent upon the snow. We will be going outside at approximately 9:30 a.m. and sledding for most of the day. Lunch will be provided outside and we welcome all our community members to join us in the hollow/athletic field for a fun-filled day/ Students are allowed to bring sleds, snowboards and the like to school that day.

The kindergarten and first grade students had a great time playing Tug-of-War in Gym class on Tuesday.

The Alba Public School transportation system will not be running on Thursday, February 2, 2023. Our driver Becky Beagle is needed downstate to be with her mother on Thursday. As such, all bus runs for the day are cancelled, but school will remain in session. If at all possible, we would ask that you bring your student and pick them up from school that day.

Our elementary basketball players have had a change in plans. We have been asked to go to Harbor Light this Saturday to compete against, Wolverine, NMCA and Harbor Light. This will give the kids extra games and I have agreed to do this. We will still leave the school at 8:00 a.m. and return at around 12{00-12:30 p.m. Our destination has simply changed to Harbor Light which is closer.

The elementary basketball players need to be at the school at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday morning (January 28th) to ride the bus to Northern Michigan Christian Academy (NMCA). The game will start at 10:00 a.m. and we should be back at school around 12:30-1:00 p.m.

On Friday, January 27, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Alba Public School will be hosting our monthly community luncheon. We invite all of our parents and community members to come to the school to enjoy the luncheon with our students. Miss Tina will be preparing sloppy joes on a wheat bun with baked beans along side the salad and fruit bar. We look forward to seeing all of our friends in the building on Friday!

Alba Public School has had a number of illnesses over the past couple of weeks. We have one confirmed case of STREP and want the community aware of this. If you child is experiencing signs of illness, please keep them home for the safety of all of our students. Thank you!

The Alba Elementary basketball team will be going to Harbor Light on Saturday. January 14, 2023. We will leave by bus at 8:45 a.m. and play against Harbor Light and Mackinaw City. This game has been changed from what was indicated last Saturday due to Wolverine having a team to play. The expected return time to Alba Public School is approximately 1:00 p.m.

Elementary Basketball grades 3-6 will be hosting both Mackinaw City and Wolverine on Saturday morning. The young Wildcats will host Mackinaw City at 1)0:00 a.m. and will have a game off to watch the Mackinaw Wolverine game. They will then play against Wolverine following their contest. Please have your student/athlete at the gym by 9:30 a.m. for the activities.

Good morning, we hope all of our family and friends here at Alba Public School enjoyed the holiday break and had a wonderful Christmas! This is a simple reminder that Alba Public School will be reopening after the break on Tuesday, January 3, 2023. We look forward to seeing all of you back at school!

Good morning, Alba Public School wanted to remind our parents and community members that today we will be hosting our monthly Community Luncheon at 11:00 a.m. Miss Tina will be preparing ham, mashed potatoes and gravy and all the sides. We look forward to seeing our Alba Public School friends at the luncheon today.!

In gym class this week, the Kindergarten and First Grade Students participated in sleigh ride time trials. They look like they were having a great deal of fun!

Due tot he school closure on Thursday, December 15, 2022 our Christmas Concert for this evening at 6P:30 p.m. has been cancelled. The program is rescheduled for Friday, December 16, 2022 (tomorrow) at 6:30 p.m. in the gym.

We have a correction on the date and time of the Christmas Concert. The concert will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at 6:30 p.m. If the weather is bad that evening, the make-up date will be Friday, December 16, 2022 at 6:30 p.m. We are sorry for the misinformation which was sent out yesterday.

In gym class this week the second and third grade students worked on learning how to play tennis, ping pong and badminton.

On Tuesday, November 22, 2-21 at 11:00 a.m. Alba Public School will be hosting our annual Thanksgiving Community Luncheon. Miss Tina will be making the feast, including Turnkey, mashed potatoes and all the fixings. We invite all our community members to come to the school and enjoy luncheon.
